Go through my deck and check each slide carries one message.

**Per slide:**
1. ***State its message in one sentence.* **If you cannot, or it takes two, say so** — **that is the finding**
2. **Does the content on the slide support that message, or something else?**
3. ***Is the message in the title?*** **A title that names a topic ("Q3 Results") makes the audience work it out; a title that states the message does not**
4. **What on this slide serves nothing** — ***a chart that is not referenced, a bullet that repeats the title, decoration***

**Across the deck:**
- ***Slides whose messages are the same*** — **merge them**
- ***A slide whose message contradicts an earlier one*** — **and whether that is deliberate**
- **Where the sequence breaks** — ***a slide that does not follow from the one before.* **That is where the audience gets lost and where I will stumble**
- ***Read only the titles in order: do they tell the story?*** **If they do not, the deck has no spine** — **this is the strongest single test and almost nobody runs it**

**Then:** the slides to cut, ***named***, and what is lost.
