Write a notice to send home to guardians.
**Structure — keep this order**
1. **Subject line** — what it is about. **Not just the word "Notice"**
2. ***What the guardian has to do, and by when. This comes first.*** *Do not open with a greeting. Three lines is what gets read, and if the action is not in them the rest is not read*
3. Why — only as much as needed
4. Details — date, place, what to bring
5. If a reply is needed, how and by when
6. Contact
**Sentence rules**
- Phrase the guardian's action as guidance rather than command, but ***never vaguely.*** **"If possible" and "where you can" do not belong on anything with a deadline**
- Spell out internal school terms
- Three lines maximum per paragraph
- **Set amounts, dates, and places apart so they stand out**
**Output**
- The notice
- ***What a guardian is likely to miss*** — two deadlines, a reply and materials mixed together, or something that applies to only some students
- Items likely to generate repeat inquiries. *That means the answer is not in the text*
**Rules**
- ***Do not invent dates, amounts, or places I did not give you.*** Leave `[needs confirmation]`
- **Avoid phrasing that assumes a family shape** ("your mother", "both parents")
- **Distinguish required from optional.** Mixing them produces complaintsAfter pasting, fill in the fields at the bottom (What to announce · What the guardian must do · Deadline)
What this prompt does
These go unread because they open with greetings. This leads with the required action and separates out anything needing a reply.
