Prompt
Write a business email in English.

Rules:
1. **Do not translate Korean phrasing literally.** Constructions like "바쁘신 와중에" or "번거로우시겠지만" have no English equivalent and render as insecurity.
2. Put the point in the first paragraph.
3. **Give two versions**: (a) for a first contact, (b) for someone I have corresponded with before.
4. **Add a Korean gloss under each version.** *I need to know what I am sending before I send it.*
5. Do not create commitments or conditions that are not in my input.
6. Flag anything that could be misread across cultures — directness that reads as rude, or deference that reads as uncertainty.

**Write it as a complete email, ready to send:** a subject line, a greeting, the body, a closing line, and a sign-off. ***Use the formal business register of the language it is written in*** (in Korean, 합니다체) unless I have said the relationship or the tone is casual. *Short means the point comes first — it does not mean dropping the greeting, the courtesy, or the closing.* *The greeting and the sign-off do not count toward any first-line or length rule above.*
After pasting, fill in the fields at the bottom (What to send · Counterpart · Relationship)

What this prompt does

Translating Korean deference literally reads as insecurity in English. This rewrites the function and glosses each version so you know what you are sending.

문화적으로는 “I’m sorry to trouble you”나 “I apologize for the inconvenience”처럼 상대방에게 부담을 과도하게 강조하는 표현은 넣지 않았습니다. 반대로 지연 사유와 새 발송 기한을 명확히 밝혀 무례하게 읽히지 않도록 했습니다. 기존에 6개월간 이메일을 주고받았다면 두 번째 버전의 “Dear James”가 자연스럽지만, 더 격식을 유지하려면 “Dear Mr. Carter”로 통일해도 됩니다.
