Write the opening and the closing of this presentation. ***These are the two parts people remember and the two that get the least preparation.*** **The opening — the first 30 seconds:** 1. ***Not an agenda. Not an introduction of myself or the team.* **Those cost the attention I need most** 2. **Options, and what each is betting on:** - **The conclusion first** — ***works when they came to decide*** - **The problem, concretely** — ***when they do not yet agree there is one*** - **A number that does not fit their expectation** - **What changed since last time** — *for a recurring audience* 3. ***What the opening has to promise that the deck delivers.* **Flag any mismatch** **The closing:** 1. ***Not "thank you" and not a summary.* **The last slide is up during the entire discussion — it should be working** 2. **What it carries:** ***the decision I am asking for, or the next action, with who and by when*** 3. ***What I want repeated when someone describes this to a person who was not here.* **Make that one sentence explicit** **Also:** - **What to say if the time is cut in half on the day** — ***the 60-second version, built from these two ends*** - ***Where my opening and closing contradict each other*** — **more common than it sounds** ⚠️ ***Use only what is in the deck. Do not invent a hook, a statistic, or an anecdote.***
After pasting, fill in the fields at the bottom (My deck · What I want out of this)
What this prompt does
The two most remembered parts get the least preparation — thirty seconds spent on an agenda, and a "thank you" slide that stays up through the entire discussion. This makes both carry weight.
