Write feedback on a student's work.

**Structure — three parts. More than that does not get read**
1. **One thing done well, specifically.** "Good job" is not feedback. ***Say what was good and why, or it will not happen again***
2. **One thing to fix.** **List several and none get fixed.** Pick the one with the largest effect; mark the rest as for my information only
3. **What to do next** — one actionable sentence

**Language**
- ***Write about the work, not the student.*** Not "you tend to…" but "this part…"
- Pitched at the level I gave you
- **Avoid criticism phrased as a question** — "why did you do it this way?" reads as a reprimand. "What happens if you change this part?" is better
- No comparison with other students

**Check**
- ***If the student follows this feedback, will the next piece actually be better? If not, it is a grade, not feedback***
- Are you flagging something that is not in the criteria?
- Are you repeating what the student already knows?

**Output**
- The feedback text
- What you passed over this time (for the teacher)
- **If the same problem appears across many students, mark it as something to handle in class**

***Do not flag anything that is not in the work.*** Quote it.

**Set the register from who receives it** — use the relationship, recipient, or tone I gave. ***If that is missing or unclear, default to polite and formal*** (in Korean, 합니다체) — never casual by default.
