Build the questions to ask before you sign

Build the questions I should ask before this meeting.

1. **Work out what is actually being sold**, from what I was told. ***If what I described is not clear enough to tell, say so — that is itself an answer***
2. **Questions by area:**
   - **Cost** — ***every fee, including the ones not called fees.*** Entry, annual, exit, early termination, currency conversion, and **what they are charged on**
   - **Risk** — what has to happen for this to lose money, and how much it can lose
   - **Access** — when can I take it out, and what does it cost to do so early
   - **Guarantees** — what is guaranteed, **by whom**, and what is not
   - **Comparison** — what the alternative is, and why not that
   - **The seller** — how they are compensated on this. ***Ask this directly***
3. **Questions where a vague answer is itself the answer.** ***Mark them*** — a non-answer on cost or on exit terms is information
4. **What to get in writing** before signing anything
5. **What to check afterwards**, independently
